Ittan-mommen

I tried drawing a Chôchinobake but it didn't turn out well, so here you have an Ittan-Mommen.
Those are Tsukumogami of cotton rolls.

It didn't turn out as well as the Karakasa because its shape is simpler and it looks less complete.
But that face. I love it.

I'm planning on doing more of these.

For people who don't know about them, Tsukumogami are a type of youkai (spirits, monsters, etc.) in japanese mythology. It's said that when objects reach one hundred years, they grow faces or extremities, transforming into tsukumogami, living objects that may just play pranks, scaring people and stuff, or seek vengeance to their previous owners, depending on how they were treated. This one is an Ittan-Mommen, originated from a cotton roll.
